The Tonea Stewart Performing Arts Programs are designed to introduce students to
self-control, self-worth, self-affirmation and the creative process.
Through the use of the arts, TAPS or Theatre Artist Performing School offers
techniques in reading comprehension skills, personal development, and acting, singing and dance.
3T or Teaching Through Theater
utilizes theater arts as a vehicle to curtail the rising drop out rate as well as address college readiness.
TTI or Technical Theater Initiative
uses the practical side of theater to focus on technical career training and trade skills that qualifies one for the world of work.
GIFTED or Giving Individuals Freedom to Express Diversity
is a program specifically designed for persons with disabilities to participate in the arts. These programs offer classes in acting, singing, dancing, technical theater, reading, modeling, creative writing, professionalism, public speaking and oral interpretation.
